President Elect: Randy Rogers, CAA


​​Randy is a native of Springfield, Ohio and a 1992 graduate of Springfield North High School. He continued his education at Carson Newman College, where he was a 4-year starter on the baseball team. He earned his B.A. degree in History (1996) and a Master’s of Education (1999) from Carson Newman College. He earned his Ed.S. in Educational Administration from Lincoln Memorial University in 2003.Randy’s career in education began at Jefferson Middle School where he taught 6th and 7th grade Social Studies from 1997-2004. During his time at Jefferson Middle, he coached middle school basketball (boys and girls), high school baseball, freshman basketball at Jefferson County High School, and high school baseball at Knoxville Central High School. From 2004-2012, Randy served as a 7th grade teacher at West View Middle School in Hamblen County, and also coached football and golf. While at West View, he began umpiring college baseball, becoming a member of the Southern Conference, Atlantic Sun Conference, and the Ohio Valley Conference umpiring staffs.
Randy joined the Jefferson County High School Staff as an Assistant Principal in 2011 and became the Athletic Director in 2012. As Athletic Director, Randy has helped with school wide renovations, worked with coaches and other county officials to improve athletic facilities, and works with the 4 middle schools and their athletic directors. During his tenure, Jefferson County Schools has added Elementary School Basketball, Middle School Baseball and Middle School Soccer teams to their county wide athletic programs. During this time Jefferson County High School has continued to achieve successes in the classrooms and on the athletic fields; JCHS was won the Larry Williams All-Sports Trophy for the IMAC Conference 7 times, several teams have won district, regional titles, several athletes and teams had made to their respected State Tournaments, with the 2019 Softball team winning the State Championship, and Lauren Eccles won the National High School Heisman Award, in 2018.
He has served as the President of the Inter Mountain Athletic Conference since 2013. He has been a member of the Tennessee Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association and National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association since 2014. He has been on the TIAAA Board of Directors (Region 1) since 2016. He served on the host committee for the National Athletic Director’s Conference, which was held in Nashville in 2016. Rogers was named Tennessee Athletic Director of the Year from the TIAAA and earned his Certified Athletic Administrator certification from the NIAAA in 2016. He was the recipient of the AF Bridges Athletic Director of the Year (District I) for 2018-19 from the TSSAA. He is currently serving as the NIAAA/TIAAA State’s Awards Chairpersons for Tennessee and will serve as president of the TIAAA in 2022-2023. . Randy’s wife, Angie, is a former middle and high school basketball coach and is currently the principal at White Pine School. They have three boys: Nolan, Jacob, and Maddux. When not working Randy and Angie love watching their children on the basketball courts or baseball fields either as parents or volunteer coaches.
